Dr. Shamanur Shivashankarappaji: A towering personality who started from a humble beginning has carved a niche as an Educationist, Industrialist, and Philanthropist in Davangere Karnataka. His Diligence, Commitment and Dedication have their roots in being a Veteran Congress Loyalist since 1969 thus far. He has been a Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly since 1994, as a Member of Parliament between 1998 and 1999, and at had the distinguished honour of being an Honorable Minister in the Cabinet of the Government of Karnataka twice, once in 2012 and 2016.
A zealous personality who has several Prestigious Awards to his credit. As the President of the All India Veerashiva Mahasabha, this devout personality has been recognised with awards from the Matts at Sri Sirigere, Sri Bruhanmatt and Sri Rambhapuri Peetha.
His present position as the Honourable Secretary of the Bapuji Educational Association which he holds from 1972 provides education from Schooling to Professional courses. He is also the Chairman of a Medical College and three Sugar Factories.
